Abstract

AGUIRRE, Fernando et al. Synthesis and characterization of mesoporous molecular sieves MOR/MCM41. Rev. Soc. Quím. Perú [online]. 2008, vol.74, n.4, pp.291-297. ISSN 1810-634X.

Micro/mesoporous solids of type MOR/MCM-41 were prepared, with different Si/Al ratios. For this, 3,15g of zeolite was placed in a solution of NaOH 3M and shaken by 30 min. Soon 40g of a solution of Cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB to 16% p/p) were added and it was shaken again by 30 minutes. The mixture was deposited in a Teflon lined autoclave for hydrothermal treatment to 373 K by 24 h. After this, pH was adjusted to 8,5. The mixture was deposited again in the autoclave by 24 h more to 373 K. The solid product was recovered by filtration and it washed with ethanol and desionized water, later to dry it in air to 353 K overnight and calcined it 6 h to 823 K. The acid form of these solids was obtained by means of ion exchange in NH4NO3 1M to 343K by 2 h, followed of an air calcination at 773 K by 5 h. Those solids were characterized by SEM, EDX, XRD, TGA and adsorption of N2. Obtained solids present surface areas and volumes of pore greater than the initial zeolites. Si/Al ratio = 10 produced a material with a high surface area and pore volume, conserving great part of the structure of the zeolite.
