We calculated the distance among cations and anions of the superconducting compound YBa2Cu3O7-x by using the Bond Valence Wizard program. The program uses the Pauling's concept of bond valence. We compared the results obtained with YBa2Cu3O7-x distances refined by Rietveld method and the distances found in the literature. The bond valence method is an useful tool in evaluating inorganic structures.
