Abstract

TABOADA, María E.; HERNANDEZ, Pía; FLORES, Elsa  and  GRABER, Teófilo. Crystallization of arsenic salts. Rev. Soc. Quím. Perú [online]. 2008, vol.74, n.4, pp.343-349. ISSN 1810-634X.

In this research, we study the crystallization of scorodite (FeAsO4•2H2O) and haidingerite (CaHAsO4•H2O) at different temperatures. The identification of the salts is through atomic absorption spectrometry and verified with X-ray diffraction (XRD). We analyze the quality of both salts, using the leaching procedure for the characterization of toxicity (TCLP). To conduct the crystallizations, the reagents are mixed in the crystallizer and starts agitation for a certain length of residence and the desired temperature. The solids were filtered, washed and dried. In addition, you get crystal scorodite, working on the crystallization by autoclave at 170 ° C for use as seed. According to the experimental results, we conclude that the temperature influences the speed of reaction of the crystallization of scorodite in the coloration of the solids and a stable crystal. It is not the case with the haidingerite where the temperature does not influence the composition of the crystal and not a waste stable.
