Resumen

ARMADO M, Arnaldo J.; CONTRERAS, Froilán  y  GARCIA LUGO, Pablo. Chemical fractionation of organic carbon and relationship with microbial biomass, microbial activity and DNA content in venezuelan cacao soils. Rev. Soc. Quím. Perú [online]. 2009, vol.75, n.1, pp.44-53. ISSN 1810-634X.

The relationship between humidification parameters, microbiological activity, microbial biomass and DNA content was studied in soils samples ofthree Venezuelan Cacao zones. The chemical fractionation has been obtained through solubility differences ofhumics substances in acids and bases, having obtained the humic acid fractions, fulvic acids and non-humified substances. The humidification parameters obtained were: humidification index, humification degree, humidification ratio and humic acids/fulvic acids ratio. A significantly correlation were obtained between microbiological activity and calculated humidification parameters and carbon of obtained fractions, except non-humified fraction. A significantly correlation between microbial biomass C and total organic C, DNA content, non-humified fration C, ratio AHI AF were also obtained. It is proposed that humidification parameter may be use as soil microbial activity indicators due to the excellent correlations achieved in these work between these parameters and soil respiration.

Palabras clave : Humification parameters; soil DNA extraction; basal respiration; substrate induced respiration.
