The reliability and trueness of the results obtained in archaeological matrices by means of proficiency test participation are showed. The Proficiency Test on major, minor and trace elements in ancient Chinese ceramic was conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The analysis was performed using the nuclear analytical technique of instrumental neutron activation analysis, based k zero method, which has been validated by the laboratory, according to the ISO/IEC 17025 guidelines.
