Abstract

SALINAS ESTEVANE, Juan Pablo  and  SANCHEZ CERVANTES, Eduardo Maximiano. [BMIM][BF4] ionic liquid assistance effect on the crystallinity and morphology of Sb2S3 nanostructures synthesized by ultrasound. Rev. Soc. Quím. Perú [online]. 2010, vol.76, n.3, pp.227-233. ISSN 1810-634X.

Unidimensional crystalline Sb2S3 nanostructures were successfully synthesized by ultrasound irradiation assisted with the ionic liquid 1-n-butyl-3-metilimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF4]. The starting reagents were SbCl3, thioacetamide, absolute ethanol (AET), and the used ionic liquid was [BMIM][BF4]. The resultant materials were thermally annealed at 155 and 200 ºC under controlled vacuum conditions. The experiments showed that IL assistance played a key role in the crystallinity and morphology of the obtained products. The resultant materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX).

Keywords : nanorods; ionic liquid; ultrasound.
