We study the formation dynamics of the YBa2Cu3O7 superconducting phase, from Y, Ba and Cu acetates prepared by the Sol-Gel method. The monitoring is done through by Rietveld refinement of the X-ray powder diffractograms at the end product resulting in three specific stages of the thermal treatment: (a) precursor, (b) calcined and (c) sinterized.
