Most of materials used for food packaging are not biodegradable. Different biopolymers have been investigated, in order to develop eco-friendly materials, at the same time, looking for to improve their mechanical and barrier properties. Nanomaterials have more surface area, which favors interactions with the polymer matrix and performance. Therefore, this newly developed of biopolymer based nanocomposites, known as green nanobiocomposites are considered the next generation materials.
