In this article the author proposes to consider the possibility of a future for philosophy. The author begins by recognizing a crisis of philosophy and notes that this crisis comes on two fronts: one internal and one external. On the internal front, are the philosophers themselves. They do not recognize the value of philosophy. Externally, it is society which refuses the value of the philosophy. The solution to the crisis is a genealogical look of philosophy to recognize its particularity and its value; then, the author propose to reflect on the convenience of philosophy inquiring about the functions of philosophy. The author believes that this is the way out of the crisis: to recognize the true value of philosophy complements the different demands that philosophy must answer today
