The aim was to determine the effect of diets with low concentrations of soy lecithin on growth, molting and survival of males of the river shrimp Cryphiops caementarius. Two experimental diets with 0.3% and 0.6% lecithin, a negative (without lecithin) control and a positive control (1% lecithin) with three replicates, respectively. Male shrimp, 5.15 cm total length and 6.69 g of 32 wet weight, were stocked with density of 32 shrimp m -2 and were individually cultured in six individual containers per aquarium for 90 days. The highest growth in weight and length was obtained with 0.6% and 1% lecithin, significantly different (p < 0.05) than the other treatments. The period between molting (26 days) and molting frequency (Three molting) were not affected by lecithin. Survival was 94% with 0.6 % and 1.0% lecithin, significantly high (p < 0.05) compared to the other treatments that were between 77% and 61%. The diet without lecithin and 0.3% lecithin resulted in molt death syndrome and incomplete ecdysis syndrome. It is recommended to use a minimum of 0.6% of lecithin in the diet of C. caementarius males
