Abstract

The article treats on the meaning and symbolism of the wardrobe, using the methodological and ethnographic approach in the measure in which it allows to evaluate features, clarify issues and involve cultural values. The symbolism of the wardrobe is a fundamental topic in study, since the perspective of the cultural anthropology allows to deepen the form and to the important shades in the wardrobes; In the process it has been established originally, the typical gown of the dances, which were elaborated for the use in the pastoral, agricultural rituals, ceremonial and carnival-like; therefore the different wardrobes, the chromatic impression and representation give icónica, that express cultural identifications, landscape and liturgical valuations according to the Andean calendar, social relations and convivialities with the nature. Finally, the typical wardrobes of the dances in Puno's region evolved as product of the decline of the Andean calendar and altered the original simbología as product of the imposition of the catholic religion.
