This research paper presents an empirical analysis of socioeconomic and environmental benefits of tourism in Amantani island; measured by the following indicators: benefits, community and environment. Developed on a sample of 72 families of Amantani island; showing that tourism contrary to what is intended; does not mean equitable socioeconomic development and represents the multiplier effect on the inhabitants of the island; this reality is fully grasped by the people because there are powerful groups, who received benefits directly from tourism: as boat men and owners of lodging, regarding the ecological changes due to the practice of tourism on the island are shown in positive and negative ways. The results conclude with the test of the hypothesis and the use of descriptive statistics. The test applied was the Chi- square justified by percentages, crosstabs and frequencies. These tests permitted to determinate the final conclusions on the socio-economic and ecological benefits of tourism in the island.
