Nowadays, there is a great impact of new communication technologies and this has revolutionized the way media is consume in the daily life of people, especially in a young public, as school students. The present research aimed to understand the behavior in front of Internet browsing, determining the frequency of Internet connection, the type of most consumed content and the most used social network by the fifth grade high school students from public schools in the region of Piura, 2015. For this purpose, the quantitative method and the survey technic were applied to a sample of 465 students out of a total of 19 258, all enrolled in public schools in the academic year 2015. The results show that the students consider Internet as an indispensable and necessary tool in their lives, reason why they connect to Internet mostly daily, mainly from their cellphones, being Facebook their preferred and most used social network, and the technological contents along with the series and films, the most consumed
