GUTIERREZ ATALA, Fernando; DOMINGUEZ PANAMA, Juan; ODRIOZOLA CHNE, Javier  and  FERREIRA JIMENEZ, Javier. Limiting regulations in professional practice: the study of journalist´s situation in Chile, México, Ecuador and Colombia. Comuni@cción [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.1, pp.37-47. ISSN 2219-7168.

This article determine the journalists perception in four Latin American countries (Chile, Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia) about university education and their level of satisfaction with this process, including technical, theoretical and practical aspects. 160 interviews were held for active journalists of the subgroups (40 per country and 10 on each media: newspapers, radio, television, cybermedia). The methodological method was the semi-structured interview and focused on extracting results from two perspectives: a spontaneous response to investigate the presence of ten pre-defined conditions that mark the journalistic work, although for the present report only the formative conditioning factors. Secondly, the análisis was conducted through a suggested response, to delve into specific aspects. The study´s contribution is to show the direct story regarding the insolvencies observed in the formative process and the contrast that the subjects can make from the professional trench. Although the situation and opinion to academic training in the quality journalism varies by country, journalists coincide in a series of shortcomings in educational systems that require a revision and eventual reformulation
