Nowadays, organizational and interpersonal communication are aspects that affect business success; however, poor interpersonal communication causes a deterioration in the interpersonal relationships, informal communication based on rumors, personnel demotivation, decision making discrepancy that affect the coordination of activities to achieve organizational objectives. Having this situation in the Municipal Public Company of the Integral Management of Solid Waste, a socio-psychological training is implemented to contribute to the improvement of interpersonal communicative competence. A quantitative, non-experimental, longitudinal panel approach, single group pre-post design is used in the research. The training consists of three phases: motivation, intervention and verification, seven sessions with diagnostic and formative techniques. Observations are made at three moments in time to analyze the changes that occurred in this competence, measured through descriptive and non-parametric statistics (median, Wilcoxon rank test), determining the effectiveness of the socio-psychological training while improving the competence of the trained participants, especially the subcompetences feedback and empathy
