The Peruvian mining sector is of great importance to rural populations due to the economic benefits it generates; however, it can also produce negative effects on water resources. The main of this study is to address a multidisciplinary approach to the study of the mining influence in the Ollachea Community and the Mining Community through the physicochemical evaluation of the Osccocachi River, the social perception of water quality and the comparative analysis of territorial expansion. mining and population. The results reveal that there is a level of mild acidity with a pH of 5.9 in the final stretch of the river that could affect the surrounding population, who stated that the prevalence of gastrointestinal diseases is mainly caused by the development of mining in the area. Multi-temporal satellite images from 2010 to 2019 revealed that the growth of the Ollachea Community is strongly associated with the territorial expansion of the Ollachea Mining Community (r=0.95, p<0.05). Finally, it is concluded that the territorial expansion and the physicochemical characteristics of the river coincide with the population's perception of the quality of the water, revealing that there is an environmental alteration generated mainly by mining activity.
