The purpose of this bibliographic research was to present and analyze the main transformations in which the professional work of the communicator has become, evidencing the social transformation that has been achieved from the academy and from the work and professional sphere. The methodology corresponds to the systematization of the information and the technique corresponds to that of the signing, the syncretic files were used as a research instrument, which, in a number of 38, were used to carry out the information processing. The conclusions of the research indicate that the evolution of the professional work of the social communicator is articulated to the time and space in which they develop their university training, as well as their professional work, marking easily identifiable trends for each period of time; However, regarding their professional profile, the social communicator is still seen as an “all-terrain” professional who often only imitates communication strategies and actions based on external contexts, losing the Latin American vision despite being his closest environment and where it generates all the communicational deployment.
