The article presents the complex scenarios linked to contemporary public communication in a context of media concentration. The objective of the study is to analyze the elements that make up these scenarios such as communication and politics, factual powers, the power of media communication, journalism and democracy. Applying the methodology of media monitoring in three investigative journalism digital media, the most notorious cases linked to the problem of corruption in Peru are highlighted. The results show that when the news agenda includes the follow-up of cases, these can be deepened, together with a journalistic narrative with an emphasis on democracy.
