IRURI QUISPILLO, Serafín  and  VILLAFUERTE ALVAREZ, Carlos Alberto. Importance of storytelling in education. Comuni@cción [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.3, pp.233-244.  Epub Sep 30, 2022. ISSN 2219-7168.  http://dx.doi.org/10.33595/2226-1478.13.3.720.

Storytelling is argued to be an effective educational tool in the teaching and learning process, as it provides meaningful context, engages students, and makes learning fun. The objective of the research was to analyze the importance of storytelling in education considering the categories of learning, school development, the digital age and pedagogy. The methodology was based on a bibliographic search considering 35 articles from recent years. The results infer that basic language and communication skills are developed in preschool and primary school; Similarly, it is increasingly recognized that language and cognition continue to develop from adolescence to adulthood. As a conclusion, it was obtained that storytelling can lead to significant learning if education professionals know how to use it in a reasonable and creative way, in order to benefit the student, so it should be considered in the educational task.
