Abstract

SUNI CHIPANA, Doris Erika; MANCHA PINEDA, Estanislao Edgar  and  MIRANDA DELGADO, Judith Gladys. Scientific attitude towards laboratory work by secondary school students from the Puno region. Comuni@cción [online]. 2023, vol.14, n.3, pp.257-265.  Epub Sep 28, 2023. ISSN 2219-7168.  http://dx.doi.org/10.33595/2226-1478.14.3.878.

The objective of the research work was to determine the level of scientific attitude towards laboratory work among secondary education students in the Arapa district, Puno region during the 2021 academic year. The methodology used is the quantitative approach, descriptive in nature, and with a diagnostic research design. The population consisted of 527 students from five educational institutions in the Arapa district, and a sample of 382 students was selected using probabilistic sampling for finite populations, with a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error, respectively. Data collection was carried out through surveys and questionnaires as data collection instruments based on the Likert scale, according to the variable and its dimensions. The most important conclusion reached is that secondary education students in the Arapa district of the Puno region have good scientific attitudes towards laboratory work, as evidenced by the data collection, where 37% fall on the scale of almost always efficient. This means that they are proficient in seeking solutions to problematic situations, possess scientific curiosity, seek information about current events, and make appropriate decisions. They demonstrate critical thinking by determining causes and effects in problematic situations, as well as seeking creative solutions from different perspectives, with an objective capacity to find logical solutions and taking the necessary time to analyze scenarios in pursuit of expected results.
