Abstract

ESPINO WUFFARDEN, Jorge Eugenio et al. The development of educational quality in university higher education: Systemic review 2019-2023. Comuni@cción [online]. 2023, vol.14, n.4, pp.348-359.  Epub Dec 26, 2023. ISSN 2219-7168.  http://dx.doi.org/10.33595/2226-1478.14.4.876.

The objective of this study is to carry out an exhaustive analysis of the existing literature on the development of educational quality in the field of higher education during the period between 2019 and 2023. To achieve this purpose, we used the method of PRISMA systematic review, which allowed us to synthesize the evidence from the academic literature and obtain an updated vision of the most effective practices in this area. The inclusion criteria focused on studies published in English that explicitly addressed the issue of educational quality in the context of higher education. The information search was carried out in three academic databases: ERIC, Scopus, and Web of Science (WoS). A combination of key terms related to educational quality, Latin American or Peruvian universities, and Higher Education were used. All selected studies were assessed for methodological quality, and relevant data were extracted. The results of this systematic review made it possible to identify patterns and trends related to the development of educational quality in the university environment. The study provides an overview of the most outstanding practices in this area, highlighting the importance of formulating competitiveness strategies and promoting humanistic training programs and social responsibility, as well as their relevance in evaluating results and progress achieved.
