Abstract

REYES-ARMAS, Iván  and  CARVALLO NIQUEN, Flor. Ovarian reserve screening with antiMüllerian hormone. Rev. peru. ginecol. obstet. [online]. 2018, vol.64, n.3, pp.337-344. ISSN 2304-5132.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.31403/rpgo.v64i2094.

Currently, ovarian reserve (OR) tests are mainly used in the evaluation of subfertile patients. In this paper, we discuss the use of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels, which have been associated in some cases with antral follicle count (AFC) and FSH levels in young women, and we propose an algorithm to identify the risk of reduced ovarian reserve. Using her full autonomy and after counseling, the woman would decide whether or not to do the tests, according to her priorities in life. If these tests were altered, the woman could modify her plans in regard to motherhood.

Keywords : Anti-Müllerian hormone; Ovarian reserve; Mass screening.
