Resumen

MORALES CABRERA, Dante U et al. Arsenic total not desired to referential values of ph in surface water, sama hydrographic basin, Tacna-Peru Region. Rev. investig. Altoandin. [online]. 2017, vol.19, n.3, pp.305-312. ISSN 2313-2957.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18271/ria.2017.295.

Arsenic represents a danger to ecosystems and human health where its immediate bioavailability in surface waters may be conditioned by physico-chemical parameters such as pH. The purpose of the study was to determine the concentrations of total arsenic at pH values in the surface water of the Sama basin, Tacna-Peru Region. During august and november of 2016 as april and june of 2017 a probabilistic sampling was carried out in four reference points corresponding to the sampling station Sama Bocatoma-Tranca. There were statistically significant differences (p≤0.05) between the mean concentrations of total arsenic in each month (0.0731; 0.299835; 0.287 and 0.711 mg.L-1) where the allowable value was exceeded by the environmental regulation standard used, 0.01 mg.L-1). In the case of pH, the values were found in the established range and although they were accepted, the use value should be limited to the surface water of the watershed, since they had undesired concentrations of total arsenic, which could be harmful, if they were destined to the consumption without efficient treatment for the human being and/or irrigation of culture in the agricultural development.

Palabras clave : total arsenic; pH; surface water; hydrographic basin; Tacna-Peru.
