This article traces euphemisms in the television program of former Colombian president Iván Duque called Prevención y acción and his social network Facebook, based on the categories proposed by Chamizo (2004): politically correct, attenuation, elevation of dignity, being polite and respectful, among others. The objective of this work is to analyze euphemisms mentioned by the former president of the republic Iván Duque in his YouTube channel and in his social network Facebook. Methodologically, euphemisms extracted from the speech of the former Colombian president were compiled based on the documentary analysis, which contributes with collecting information through electronic channels, printed matter, audiovisual media, etc. Therefore, the important data for data collection will be gathered in the form of index cards. The research concludes that former president Duque uses different euphemisms in his discourse through his social networks, with the intention of protecting his image and avoiding unfavorability in his period of government.
