We describe and illustrate in detail the diversity of species of the genus Calceolaria L. (Calceolariaceae) from Salpo District, province of Otuzco, region of La Libertad, and a new species from northern Peru. We report 15 species that grow in this geographic area, from which 7 are endemic to the Western Andes of Peru: Calceolaria bicolor, C. bicrenata, C. cajabambae, C. pinnata subsp. delicatula, C. pumila, C. utricularioides and C. salpoana, between 1800-3774 m of altitude. We propose and describe a new species, C. amicora that grows around the site named Piedra Gorda (Salpo- Plazapampa route), Salpo District, province of Otuzco, region of La Libertad, Peru, at 8º00’38.5" S and 78º38’20.5" W, 2835 m of altitude, and above San Andres de Carcel (Salpo-Casmiche Bridge route), at 8º00’38.5" S and 78º 38’20.5" W, 2835 m. It is characterized by having (4-) 12-19 flowers per node, globose corolla with two lines of purple dots (at the two sides) in the basal area internally, pilose externally and internally, anthers oblong descending, ovary ovate, depressed, green, pubescent, style asymmetric greenish, herbs 0.7-1 m tall. Additionally, we include the sections for all species; as well as, to the descriptions, we attach the corresponding drawings and photographs, we discuss their relations with other similar species, and include data of geographic distribution, ecology, phenology, current status, common name and uses of the species
