Abstract

APONTE, Héctor  and  APENO, Antony. Richness of vascular flora of the coastal wetlands of Lima: An approximation using nonparametric estimators. Arnaldoa [online]. 2019, vol.26, n.1, pp.131-138. ISSN 1815-8242.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22497/arnaldoa.261.26107.

A total of 113 species of vascular plants are reported for the coastal wetlands of Lima. In order to know the percentage of plants that are known for this study region, nonparametric estimators of the total diversity (Chao 2, Jacknife 1, Jacknife 2 and Boostrap) and completeness were used. These algorithms allow the obtention of a reference of the maximum potential of species that are found in this region and how complete is the diversity that is known through floristic evaluations. Based on these estimators, we can indicate that about 70 % of the richness of vascular plant species is known, giving us a range of species likely for this region between 134 and 185 species of vascular plants. We discuss the implications of these results and the possibility that the flora that is not yet known may be composed of opportunistic species or may be found in localities not yet sampled
