Resumen

GUERRERO PADILLA, Ana Marlene. Geomorphological and edaphological study in the development of Persea americana (Lauraceae), Asparagus officinalis (Asparagaceae) and Saccharum officinarum (Poaceae) in Trujillo Province, Peru. Arnaldoa [online]. 2019, vol.26, n.1, pp.447-464. ISSN 1815-8242.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22497/arnaldoa.261.26124.

The main objective was to study the geomorphology and capacity of soil use in the development of Persea americana Mill. (Lauraceae), Asparagus officinalis L. (Asparagaceae) and Saccharum officinarum L. (Poaceae) in Trujillo Province, Peru. The methodology used in the execution of the study follows the norms and guidelines established by the Soil Survey Manual of the United States Department of Agriculture, the Land Classification Regulations of Peru, Soil Taxonomy; the identification and description of the units of soil use was made based on satellite images and field information. The systematization of the thematic information was standardized for the projections that were worked in the basin, in the thematic, georeferenced and digitized maps, using the Illwis 3.4 (ITC) program, which were executed in the International Technology Center (ITC), Enschede, Netherlands. The study area presented three well-differentiated geomorphological zones a) massifs and isolated coastal hills, b) plains and c) western flank of the Andes mountain range. The edaphic groups that were identified within the basin were: fluvisols, regosols and lithosols. The province of Trujillo is the first regional producer of Persea americana "avocado", Asparagus officinalis "asparagus", Ananas comosus "pineapple" and Saccharum officinarum "sugar cane".

Palabras clave : geomorphology; land use; Persea americana; Asparagus officinalis; Saccharum officinarum.
