Abstract
GUERRERO PADILLA, Ana Marlene; LEIVA GONZALEZ, Segundo and RODRIGUEZ RODRIGUEZ, Eric F. Water availability according to irrigation sectors in Viru river basin, Peru. Arnaldoa [online]. 2020, vol.27, n.1, pp.283-302. ISSN 1815-8242. http://dx.doi.org/10.22497/arnaldoa.271.27118.
Water availability was evaluated according to irrigation sectors in Viru river basin, Peru. The proposed methodology was considerate the runoff and contributions from the tributaries of Viru river basin, determining water volumes during 2018-2019 hydric year. The correlation of water availability and agricultural demand was estimated, in the upper basin the correlation R2=0.3794, ANOVA analysis, p=0.033, and standardized and non-standardized coefficients was obtained p=0.033, indicating that there is significant correlation; while middle and lower basin, R2=0.736, ANOVA p=0.002 and standardized and non-standardized coefficient p=0.001 and p=0.004 were found, there is no significant correlation. The main crops were presented Sorghum vulgare "sorgo forrajero", Zea mays "maíz", Cucumis sativus "pepinillo", Citrullus lanatus "sandía", Allium cepa "cebolla", Capsicum annuum "pimiento", Capsicum baccatum var. pendulum "ají escabeche", Persea americana "palta", Lactuca sativa "lechuga", Manihot esculenta "yuca". The vegetative growth and flowering of several crops are very vulnerable to factors could be exacerbated by a climatic change such as minimum and maximum ranges of temperature, scarcity or abundance of water in periods of drought or intense rains, respectively.
