Peru assumed international commitments in order to safeguard its natural wealth and biological diversity, for which it implemented the national system of natural areas protected by the state, of which the National Sanctuary of Calipuy is part, where the population located in its zone of buffering receive environmental services from this protected natural area. In the present work; the water environmental service has been valued economically and its economic value was determined; through the Contingent Valuation Method type format. For this, a sample of 90 inhabitants out of a total of 400 was taken; chosen by stratified random sampling. The data was obtained through a survey, the questionnaire being the measuring instrument; and, analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicate that the willingness to pay of the respondents is close to S /. 3.00 per month per family; value negatively influenced by age and positively, by economic income; the same one that is very low.
