The aim of the study was to determine the antibacterial effect of Musa acuminata (Musaceae) “banana” against Enterococcus Faecalis ATCC 29212. E. Faecalis ATCC 29212 strains were obtained from the microbiology laboratory of the Antenor Orrego Private University and were grown in Müller Hilton agar and incubated at 37 °C for 24 hours in microanaerobiosis in a Gaspak jar. Taxonomic analysis was performed on the corresponding sample. Twelve repetitions were performed for each experimental concentration at 50%, 100%, and positive and negative controls; bacterial sensitivity and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) were subsequently determined. The results showed similarity when determining the susceptibility of E. Faecalis against the ethanolic extract of M. acuminata 100% with chlorhexidine 0.12% and, at 50%, the effect was less; the MIC was 50%. Concluding, Musa acuminata (banana) has an antibacterial effect in vitro against E. Facalis ATCC29212 in both concentrations.
