MAMANI-CATO, Rubén Herberht; CONDORI-ROJAS, Nicoll; HUACANI-PACORI, Ferdynand Marcos y MAMANI, Vilk Modesto Checalla. Productive parameters of criollo sheep. Manglar [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.1, pp.77-84. Epub 15-Mar-2022. ISSN 1816-7667. http://dx.doi.org/10.17268/manglar.2022.010.
The objective of this study was to determine the productive parameters of the Criollo sheep, for the period 1993-2006, the study was carried out at the Chuquibambilla Research and Production Center, department of Puno. The productive parameters were determined using conventional formulas. The annual average capital (CPA) of the period was 1757; The class structure was: rams 8.62%, male yearling lambs 15.38%, male lambs 6.25%, ewes 47.10%, female yearling lambs 16.16% and female lambs 6.50%; the crude birth rate and real birth rate were 74.89% and 34.98% respectively; the sex ratio at birth was 0.97 males: 1.04 females (p≥0.05) and at weaning it was 0.96 males: 1.04 females (p≥0.05); the mortality rate with respect to the CPA was 3.85%; the result with respect to the CPA was 31.30%; the lambs achieved with respect to the CPA was 33.65% and with respect to the same class it was 96.02%; the gross and real growth rate were 1.04% and 0.59% respectively; and the livestock efficiency was 31.89%. In conclusion, the productive parameters of the Criollo sheep under environmental conditions of the high Peruvian Andes were efficient.
