Abstract
AREVALO, Deyaneira et al. Influence of biostimulants and contaminated water on the morphology of the ornamental sunflower Helianthus annuus L. Manglar [online]. 2023, vol.20, n.2, pp.123-130. Epub July 05, 2023. ISSN 1816-7667. http://dx.doi.org/10.57188/manglar.2023.014.
Bio-stimulants and water quality influence crop development. Therefore, the objective was to assess the influence of bio-stimulants and contaminated water on the morphology of ornamental sunflowers. Statistical tests revealed significant differences among variables, such as plant height, leaf number, internode distance, peduncle length, root mass, fresh plant mass, and stem diameter. The Algaser bio-stimulant (seaweed) exhibited the most significant differences (α = 0.05), followed by distilled water, Rady max (amino acids + inorganic fertilizer), and Flizz (amino acids). Canal water consistently resulted in the lowest means for all morphological variables. This study demonstrates that bio-stimulants and water quality play a significant role in the morphological development of ornamental sunflowers.
