MORENO, Alex; JUMBO, Jimmy y HERNANDEZ, Raquel. Public policies, health emergency and quality of life of the population of the province of Loja (Ecuador). Desde el Sur [online]. 2024, vol.16, n.4, e0066. Epub 31-Oct-2024. ISSN 2076-2674. http://dx.doi.org/10.21142/des-1604-2024-0066.
The global pandemic that occurred generated a health, political, economic and social crisis; therefore, we sought to identify the effects of public policies and the health emergency on the quality of life of the population of the province of Loja-Ecuador. An applied research with a quantitative approach was carried out on a sample of 384 people. It was determined that occasionally the government establishes public policies favorable to the population; that prevention measures sporadically favored health control; that vaccination mitigated the negative impact of COVID-19 on health; and, that most quality of life conditions remain the same; except for those of physical and personal security, which have worsened. It is concluded that the Health Emergency has significantly influenced the Quality of Life and that the combination of Public Policies and the Health Emergency has had a moderate influence on the Quality of Life.
