Abstract

CALVO PEREZ, Julio. Lunfardismos and Peruvian slangs; a return trip. Bol. Acad. peru. leng. [online]. 2021, n.69, pp.149-170. ISSN 0567-6002.  http://dx.doi.org/10.46744/bapl.202101.006.

This article analyzes the relationship between lunfardo [Argentinian slang] and Peruvian slang. We note the deep and varied exchange of voices between two marginalized social dialects, even though it occurs in two different countries. One of the phenomena shared by the two varieties is vesre [back slang], and the use of borrowings from a language B from a sociolinguistic viewpoint, such as Quechua or the Italian of European emigrants in Argentina, which adds «fresh» lexicon to a truly populated associative field. On the other hand, the relationship between both phenomena is complemented with the historical results of the analysis of slangs in Peru in the last century, which have paved the way for them, given the difficulty of understanding a phenomenon as complex as this one, where jargon, replana [underworld slang] and other slangs are woven in the same field of semantic creativity.

Keywords : lunfardo; slang; replana; peruanismos; argentinismos; quechua.
