The Peruvian literature from between centuries, studied under the concept of modernism, offers a series of problems that are projected to the present: the new genres, the interaction of discourses, the mixtures and connections of modern culture, the criteria of the canon and the links between modernism and the avant-garde, among others. Peruvian literature of modernism, as well as other national literatures, can no longer be explained in isolation, but must be understood in the context of globalization and the globalization implied by modernity.
