Our commitment to ethical principals

We, who have the good fortune to be involved in the academic career and scientific work, clearly recognize that the dissemination of research data is the foundation for the advancement of science. This type of knowledge depends essentially on the behavior and integrity of researchers that regularly report their results and data, as well as the conduct and ethical accountability of the journal's editors, as well as the publishing organizations which participate, publish and directly support the reporting of empirical information to the community of scientists and professionals in the world.

In this process, the editors of scientific journals have the responsibility to ensure that manuscripts and reports of data submitted for publication, meet all the ethical standards and expected integrity through a rigorous process of reviewing these empirical reports which should reflect very careful procedures with regard to the studies' participants as they relate to voluntary participation, confidentiality, and the right to withdraw from the study at any given time.

By the same token, editors and members of the scientific committee of these journals must be committed to the procedures of scientific research, making sure that such reports maintain high levels of thoroughness and originality in order to preserve the ethical principles of research regarding codes of conduct, conflict of interest, empirical data errors, disputes among authors, and plagiarism; all of them clearly stipulated by the Council of Science Editors and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

As we are beginning our third editorial decade, LIBERABIT is making an important move to the next level up, with the incorporation of a team of co-editors, as well as the inclusion of new members of the Scientific Committee. In these modern times of innovation and competiveness, our journal is currently provided with top of the line technology and software to ensure a more rigorous process of reviewing the submitted manuscripts for publication, in addition to the Open Journal Systems, digital versions in the Spanish, English and Portuguese languages.

We are very pleased to express that our coeditors, members of the Scientific Committee, and the Editorial Management Team members of LIBERABIT, the Journal of the School of Psychology at Universidad de San Martin de Porres, are deeply committed with the rigorous process of scientific integrity, reviewing, and publication of empirical reports. In this sense, our peer review procedures will continue to be the cornerstone of our work to preserve a high level of academic credibility, and maintaining leadership within the circle of scientific publications of psychology in our country, Peru.
