About the manuscript
- Only original and unpublished works that contribute to
knowledge in the field of education will be accepted. This
means they cannot have been previously published in any other
physical or digital medium. Manuscripts will undergo review
using Turnitin anti-plagiarism software, and those with more
than 25% similarity will not be accepted. If the work is
derived from a thesis, its bibliographic reference in APA
version 7 format must be provided on a separate sheet
detailing the authors (not within the manuscript). Similarly,
the manuscript of a thesis must be at least 75% original
content.
- Manuscripts written in Spanish, English, or Portuguese that
adhere to academic writing standards are accepted.
- Manuscripts can take the form of articles, essays or book
reviews.
- The “Articles” section includes manuscripts presenting the
results of empirical research, evaluative intervention
studies, pedagogical innovations, or diagnostic studies that
contribute to knowledge in education through rigorous
methodology. Additionally, systematic literature reviews on
educational topics are accepted. Studies focusing solely on
particular institutional or local contexts are not accepted
unless they significantly contribute to building relevant
knowledge in the field of education. Manuscripts in this
section should range from five thousand to seven thousand
words, including the title, summaries in three languages,
development, bibliographic references, and annexes (if
applicable).
- The “Essays” section comprises manuscripts that provide
explanations and arguments on specific educational issues in
a reflective and analytical manner. Particularly valued are
those that offer critical perspectives and take a stance on
topics currently debated in the field of education.
Manuscripts in this section should be between five thousand
to seven thousand words in length.
- The “Book reviews” section features manuscripts that offer
commentary and analysis on publications, preferably books
published within the last three years. These manuscripts
should not merely summarize or describe the content of a
book but should provide critical commentary. Manuscripts in
this section should range from two thousand to three
thousand words in length.
Structure
Although the headings of the
texts may vary in their designation, the following structure
is suggested:
For articles:
- Title
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Theoretical/conceptual framework
- Methodology
- Results
- Discussion / Conclusions
- References
For essays:
- Title
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Development
- Conclusions
- Bibliographic References
In the case of book reviews, there
is no defined structure, allowing the author the freedom to
provide critical comments on the manuscript. However, it must
include the bibliographic reference of the book being reviewed.
