Guide for Authors

Revista Kawsaypacha: Sociedad y Medio Ambiente welcomes contributions of two types:
  • Research articles.
  • Other types of contributions, such as essays, bibliographic reviews, or dissemination articles.
The author (whether an individual or the corresponding author of the work in co-authorship) who submits a manuscript to Revista Kawsaypacha: Sociedad y Medio Ambiente assumes responsibility that it is an original and unprecedented work, not having been previously published in any print (book or magazines, among others) or electronic media (including the Internet), nor submitted to be published in another journal. If there is a preliminary published version of the manuscript (whether print or electronic), the author must clearly provide in the presentation of the text the media in which the preliminary version was published as well as the updates and changes made.

If manuscripts have several authors, the co-authors will designate the person to serve as corresponding author, who will submit the contribution and coordinate with the Journal.

The author must ensure that an observation, derivation, or argument which has been previously reported must be accompanied by the relevant citation and corresponding reference.

The author authorizes the journal to publish all types of contributions having been approved to be published in any print or electronic version and via the media they may deem necessary. They will sign the Authorizing Letter that will be sent by the Editorial Team before it will be published.

We encourage authors to attend the Ethical Guidelines section.

Research articles

Research articles are papers which seek to communicate findings or original results of scientific, educational, technological, pedagogical, or teaching research projects, as well as to report the process undergone to obtain them. They can be the result of doctoral or postgraduate studies or technological innovations. These contributions, after being formally reviewed for compliance with the basic standards of the journal, will be evaluated under the double-blind modality (see Peer Review Process).

The article (including figures, tables, and bibliographic references) must have a minimum of 5000 words and a maximum of 7000 words (consider 300 words for a figure that can occupy less than half a page and 600 words for a figure that occupies the whole page).

Other contributions

Essays, bibliographic reviews, dissemination articles and other similar materials are included in this category. These contributions, after being formally reviewed for compliance with the basic standards of the journal, also will be evaluated under the double-blind modality (see Peer Review Process).

These contributions must have a minimum of 1500 words and a maximum of 3000 words with the same characteristics as the ones provided for research articles.
