The Peruvian Journal of Biology was founded in 1974 by the Association of Biologists of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Since 1974 and until 1994 a total of 4 volumes and 6 issues have been published. In this period, important articles of the Biological Sciences have appeared, especially devoted to the knowledge of the Biodiversity. Since 1998, the Peruvian Journal of Biology was yielded by the Association of Biologists to the School of Biological Sciences of the UNMSM, becoming the official organ for its scientific publications. The Journal appears with a semiannual periodicity and is devoted to the publication of the results of original and unprecedented research in the areas of Biodiversity, Biotechnology, environmental Management, Ecology and Biomedical. The Journal publishes the works carried out by national and foreign academics and researchers, in Spanish or English. The received works are evaluated by referees according to the international criteria of quality, creativity, originality, and contribution to the knowledge. The abbreviated title of the journal is Rev Peru Biol that should be used in bibliographies, footers, legends and bibliographic references. |
