Resumen
ACOSTA, Manuel. Niveles básicos de susceptibilidad del Anopheles pseudopunctipennis al DDT y al Dieldrin en la región occidental del Perú. Rev. perú. med. exp. salud publica [online]. 1958, vol.12, n.1-2, pp.99-106. ISSN 1726-4634.
Using techniques recommended by W.H.O., the author conducted studies from December 1957 to May 1958 on the susceptibility of Anopheles pseudopunctipennis to DDT and Dieldrin insecticides. The mosquitoes were captured along the costal region of Peru, where during the past few years, extensive spraying has been done with clorinated carbon insecticides. Results showed that the LD50 for mosquitoes for DDT was between 0.38 to 0.92 percent, and for Dieldrin between 0.13 and 0.26 percent respectively. These values are within the limits of normal susceptibility of non-resistant strains of A. pseudopunctipennis.
