Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the social responsinility of the media in Puno - Perú in the face of COVID-19. The research was descriptive - exploratory, with a cross-sectional designa and the survey technique was applied through Google Forms to the directors of eight traditional media outlets with the largest audience in the city of Puno. The results showed that the media assumed social responsability from diversity, the theme of COVIS-19 was a priority in their agendas, the programs and journalistic spaces used by the different formats, the theme of vaccines predominated in all the media; they carried out various prevention actions through campaigns, production and dissemintaion of spots, radio soap operas and others to avoid contagion; Similarly, simultaneously used social networks such as WhatsApp and Facebook. It is concluded that the population was informed and sensitized aboput this disease; however, overxposure to infodemics and fake news arose from uncertainty.
