Latin-American and Argentinean literature of the early twenty-first century has shown an important interest in explaining the dictatorial processes that the region suffered during the last decades of the twentieth century. Our article analyzes the novel La casa de los conejos, from Argentinean writer Laura Alcoba and its purpose is to study the issue of narrative writing related to the notion of self-fiction, which is considered as a strategy to write about violent and traumatic events. This paper focuses on the construction of the identity of a narrator who is not always infallible and that has to rebuild big portions of their singular childhood as well as a part of Argentinean history that already has many versions and narrations. Such oppositions as knowing/ not knowing and talking/ being silent will be a leitmotif of the novel and are also configures as constitutive elements of the I on the narration.
