PIZARDI VILLAVERDE, Giovanni Antonio. Gregorio Condori Mamani or the revival of the Andean trickster motif. Bol. Acad. peru. leng. [online]. 2023, n.73, pp.61-87.  Epub 30-Jun-2023. ISSN 0567-6002.  http://dx.doi.org/10.46744/bapl.202301.003.

In this article, the subject of the agency of the Quechua indigenous in the testimony of Gregorio Condori Mamani is approached. The objective was to prove that, in his text, indigenous resistance is represented through individual discursive acts, such as the use of lies and wit. To this end, the concept of trickster was used to analyze the use that the Quechua Indians made of these resources in three passages of the text: their stay in prison with the ccamaras, the narration of the religious myths that arose as a product of Andean-Christian syncretism and the historical account of the war with Chile. Through this analysis, we identify the presence of Quechua characters who claim their agency by mocking the instances of power, be it the socio-political power of the mistis, the vigilance of the Christian God or the military superiority of the Chilean Army.
